@thefantasynerd’s Sporting News Salary Cap Contest

by John Gustafson, john@fantasylion.com
One of my friends on Twitter, @thefantasynerd, invited me to participate in a salary cap game on TheSportingNews.com. I’ve never done well in salary cap games, but I’m not one to turn down a challenge. With a $35 million budget, this is how my team turned out…
- QB1 - Aaron Rodgers $9.25M
- QB2 - Joe Flacco $6.00M
- RB1 - Ryan Grant $6.25M
- RB2 - Ray Rice $8.00M
- WR/TE1 - Julian Edelman $1.00M
- WR/TE2 - Jermichael Finley $1.75M
- Def - Green Bay Packers $2.50M
- Total $34.75M
In this contest, you can only trade out 2 players for the whole contest without purchasing some more trades. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any additional trades so hopefully the 2 players I lose this week in the NE/Bal game, I can add with SD or GB players. I’m pretty much going for a boom or bust play here. I don’t really care about winning the whole contest, but it’d be cool to win our group. We’ll see, like I said, I’m never been that good at salary cap games. Thanks to @thefantasynerd for the invite. It should be a fun time.
