Week 14 Treasures: Waiver wire dudes I like heading into the fantasy playoffs

by John Gustafson, founder of The Lion. Currently listening to this.
QBs
- Jason Campbell- This guy gets hated on a lot, but I like him. In fact, when the ‘Skins don’t resign him, I hope he makes a trip to SF. At least he can run a full offense unlike…
- Alex Smith- I still have nightmares about Smith sucking it up for my Niners from back in the day, but he’s put it together the last few weeks and has a favorable schedule the rest of the way. That doesn’t mean start him over Peyton Manning or anything, but if you need him, he should be good for about 15+ points as long as the 49ers keep operating out of the spread.
RBs
- Jerome Harrison- I seriously don’t know why he wasn’t starting sooner. I mean all respect to Jamal Lewis but “The Ghost” Harrison gives the Browns something extra especially in the passing game. Now that J-Lew is out, he’s the man and he came through again last week with 17 touches including 7 catches for 97 total yards and 2 Tds or 28.7 fantasy points which was the best for all RBs in week 13. Also, his playoff schedule is pretty favorable. If you can get The Ghost and play him as a RB2 or RB3 consider yourself lucky.
WRs
- Devin Thomas- Last week may have been his breakout game. 7 catches for a Benjamin and 2 TDs is good enough for me and 29 points. He was also targeted 7 times so you gotta love that perfect 100% conversion. If he can do it again this week vs Oak, then I’d trust starting him as a WR3 or flex player in weeks 15 and 16 because I’ve never really like Santana “The Turd” Moss.
TEs
- Jermichael Finley- He had his 2nd big game of the year last week. I like him going forward as he could basically do it any week playing in this pass happy offense and it seems like Rodgers trusts him. Good signs. His playoff schedule is pretty weak as well, especially if Polamalu is out for the Steelers in week 15.
- Fred Davis- I’ve liked this kid outta USC since he came in for Cooley a few weeks ago. After a few slow weeks as in the starting role, he’s now done it 2 weeks in a row. You could do a lot worse and like his teammate Thomas he may be emerging as a favorite target for Campbell down the stretch.
Ks
- Garrett Hartley- You all know how I feel about kickers. If you need him, get him.
Ds
- Tennessee Titans- I’m not going to endorse them down the stretch, but I certainly will this week when they play the ruthless Kyle Boller and the
LambsRams.
Yes, you read correctly. I like 3 Redskins this week. If you have any questions, get at me- john@fantasylion.com.
