I’ll Have a Turkey Leg & a side of Martellus, Thank You: Another sneaky Turkey Day Pick Up

I want to preface this article by saying that in my leagues, I only carry 1 QB, 1 K, and 1 D. The reason being that usually there are good options at those positions should your starter on the waiver wire. I do this so I can load up at RB, WR, and TE to stash some guys that could pay off later in the season. Another guy that could be good going forward is Cowgirls TE Martellus Bennett.

I first became familiar with Bennett last year when he was a rookie and featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks when they followed the Cowgirls during their training camp. He’s been brought in as a guy to compliment Witten. So far he’s done a serviceable job, but his true potential will come with Witten out of the picture. With Witten’s health in question this week and possibly after this week, Bennett is a good stash and hope guy. He’s big, athletic, has decent hands, and can block so he’d be an every down guy for the Cowboys if Witten is out. The Cowgirls have lacked consistency from their WR corps and Bennett could be the spark they need if given the chance.  He hasn’t done that much this year, but he scored 4 TDs last year. Add him if you are looking for a good TE or flex option going forward. You can never prepare enough headed down the stretch and your fantasy championship could come down to the 1 or 2 players you picked up and stashed towards the end of the season. He’s also worth a good pickup if you want to keep the current Witten owner from handcuffing Bennett.
